Can you give me some advice about my dog?

Up until a few weeks ago I worked nights as a baggage handler and this left me plenty of time to spend with my companion Rufus who is a Weimaraner. However I have now secured a job at Goldman Sachs in 'the city' so this leaves me back working days but out of the house for 14 hours a time. I thought everything was fine with the new arrangement but last night my arab next door neighbour Mr Jumbala came round and made a complaint about Rufus. He cited that Rufus had been howling and pining for me all day. He stated that if I didn't shut Rufus up 'then he would'. What should I do?
